it’s official: check fraud case will be heard before murder trial
According to media sources, Judge Strickland has ruled that the check-fraud case against Casey Anthony will be heard prior to the murder trial. This is an important decision, and there was much speculation with regards to how Strickland would rule.
It appears that Judge Strickland has based his decision on the weight of the impact to the victim, Amy Huizenga, who has a right to have the case heard and resolved.
If Huizenga prevails, and Casey Anthony is found guilty in this case, then she will stand trial for murder with a felony conviction on her record, adding weight in sentencing for the murder trial should she be found guilty.
The state has agreed to a non jury trial. It is anyone’s guess if the defense will agree to a non jury trial or not.
Stay tuned.

ORLANDO SENTINEL:
What always irked me were the shenanigans from the defense making KC appear like some kind of ‘celebrity criminal’. What makes her a@@ different from other criminals? Why should justice have to wait so long? The defense is now eating their own BS as we speak (write). Yeah! 🙂
Oh boy,
I agree with you there…. this is an awful turn of events for the defense… I am thrilled that Judge Strickland ruled on the side of the victim in this case….
BRAVO!!!!

I hope after all this Amy can get her life moving. Casey not only stole from her financially, but she strung her along about helping her get a job and a place to live.
By now, Amy probably has moved on, but the “mental stress” will be there for some time even after this trial and the next, which Amy may have to be part of. Hopefully, she will gain some sense of justice.
Hi Claire,
I agree with you; Amy has the right to put this behind her and I am so thankful that Strickland has ruled in favor of Amy.
It’s horrible what Amy had to go through – she was really raked over royally by Casey. She sure does deserve justice, sooner rather than later.
All the best, Claire!
