will tomorrow be a big day, or a big bust?

by Andrea O'Connell

As everyone is aware by now, there’s a hearing in the Anthony case tomorrow morning (Thursday, March 18th, 2010).

The big question lingering here like a mirage is whether the Judge will hear extended arguments about the money trail.

Anything could happen tomorrow, and it probably will.

Will the fact that Casey has zero assets be the key to unlock her right to indigent status?  Will an accounting of the money spent to date be required?  Will Baez get tripped up about his dealings with money?

Meanwhile, Georgie Porgie claims he did not kiss the girl; did not receive any money from the girl, didn’t even KNOW her and on and on and on… deny deny deny.  Sound familiar?  The Denial family denies everything under the sun, from the biggest most important things like the smell in the car, to the small things like who belonged to what hair brush (which turned out to be a big thing, as we know), deny deny deny.

However, would George so vehemently deny this knowing there is “supposed proof” of his relationship?  And it is not about the relationship per se , it’s about the alleged statements that will be so damning if proven true.

Tonight on Nancy Grace we again saw some of the tapes of the Anthony’s embarrassing depositions at Morgan & Morgan Law firm.

I always wonder, what do the Anthony’s think of themselves when they see themselves behaving like that?  Does Cindy think her incessant gum chewing with mouth open wide in contempt was a reasonable response?

Does George now see as utterly childish his accusation that Morgon was “giving him the finger” when Morgan was simply pushing his glasses up on his nose?

I mean, really, it is painful to see them behave so badly.  They should be wrecked souls, wracked with pain over the death of their granddaughter and the fact that their only daughter is charged with the crime.  Wouldn’t this make them a little humble?   (Ha!)

So, until tomorrow, I want to leave you with these few thoughts because I am weary of the hate in this world of ours; I am sickened by all the murders, rapes, and terrible atrocities to our children.  What has happened to us?

The world needs people who leave honest footprints that ultimately will lead the way for the next generation – a generation of compassionate givers, is my hope.  The world needs people who will be as honest in small things as they will in big things; who walk the talk, and talk the walk of truth with a value compass that stays constant in their every-day pocket;  who place themselves above others, not out of a need to be self righteous, but who have an abundance of kindness, a gentle, easy compassion; who do not mistake meek for weak, and who know that, despite all our foibles, we are only human.

I want this.  All of it.

    Amen to that, Andrea! Beautiful!

A former president once said…”A kinder, gentler nation…” If only all would adhere, and expand it to “A kinder, gentler universe…”

Andrea; lovely thoughtful words. Now about George. Again the media have tried him in public court as if …. he is guilty of having the affair, of taking $5,000 of uttering how his grandchild died. Do you not see this as a travesty? I don’t mean to be one sided, but you have River making these claims with the help of her sister, as the backup. What does George have here. An eager media to wish it proof positive, so that more stories can be layerd on top. That is foolish and reckless. So now everyone waits for the video cam photos of his visits, his sexual tryst on video and once you have those, you definately have his words all of a sudden become TRUE and the case takes its’ new course. How is this good for the Prosecution? It’s an uphill battle to continue to prove the murder was NOT AN ACCIDENT. For the Defence, it’s worse and better. The Defence want to claim it was someone else, not Casey. But if she is found guilty there won’t be any DP on the table to decide, but perhaps Unintentional Death. Does anyone want to see that happen? I have a little hope that nothing will erase the fact of the DUCT TAPE, so it will be first degree murder – LIFE IN PRISON. So now we get to the real point. Why are the media doing this, and who is doing this? Media – RATINGS, WHO – well you can think for yourselves, I won’t say it out loud.

      Weezie,

thank you for your excellent comments, which for some reason, I missed reading until this moment. you are absolutely right!!! Sometimes I do forget that so much of what we read and hear is just media hype and therefore covered with innuendo and reckless reporting.

This whole topic of the River and the Skye twins has confounded me – I am no longer certain what to believe, so until I read proof-positive, I hesitate to write about it again.

And you are right that we cannot go there and begin to think of this as an “accident” just because George “may” (it’s not proven) have uttered it.

The fact remains, she was found with duct tape around her poor dear self (oh god, I hate that vision) and from what the facts to date show, the last person to see her alive was her own mother.

We will never really know unless Casey fesses up what happened to Caylee. That’s so maddening to me. I want to know that she didn’t suffer….but, no amount of my wishing it weren’t so can change the facts that she’s gone.

There have been so many developments in the last couple of days in the case…. and things will change tomorrow, too.

Like Macbeth (Shakespeare) said: “…tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day……..It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.” Kind of fits our theme here!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend… I am! I just took a long and delightful nap – oh such a decadent thing to do in the middle of the day!!!!!
