at long last, day 11 ends with a jury!

by Andrea O'Connell

It took eleven long days, but it’s done – a jury is seated in the trial of the State of Florida v. Casey Marie Anthony, accused of killing her two year old child, Caylee Marie Anthony.  Over vigorous delays and objections, we WILL have …..

Justice for Caylee!

picture of fear

Here we go!  There are 12 jurors, 5 alternates.

Let the justice begin.

        I got your email, Sherry
and I apologize for not writing back yet!

I’m sorry, but things went a little haywire
earlier in the wk, and all prep for surgery,
on top of work issues led me to beyond
busy… Not usually the way things are for
me, but everything sort of came at me all
        at once.

As soon as I’ve gotten a bit more sleep, I’ll
be sure to reach you privately ok!

Thank you so much, for all the good thoughts,
prayers and wishes – They definately worked,
as I got to come home to recover, as opposed
        to being admitted to hospital…

Just gotta make sure I don’t get no infections,
and that should allow me to stay home to re-
        cover…

I’ll chat with you soon – Back to another little
        lay-down for me!

        Thanks again, Sweetie!

Oh my, CptKD…. I didn’t realize you were ill. Will you let me know what’s happening? Hugs

Aw, no hurry, dearheart! Lord willing we won’t be going anywhere too soon so there’s plenty of time. Now, go drive Sue nuts with your neediness whilst you can! LOL 😉

She just ran out to get me some “feel better food”! LOL!
She’s so good to me… And she’s been so worried!

Gotta be quick here, as I can’t have her come home and find me up and having a CAYLEE party…

This way, I CAN play a little later… After she thinks I’ve rested some! (wink-wink)

I’m so tired, but I’m so pumped at the great, ‘JUSTICE 4 CAYLEE’ news, that I can’t seem to wind down and rest my weary, drugged-up, head!

But I must try – The body heals best at rest and during sleep….

        See ya’s in a short while – I’m sure!

I just can’t keep away… And she’ll want to know the latest too, I’m sure – LOL!

CptKD…….Like reading your comments and wish you the best on a speedy recovery. Been there, done that, never fun. The feel good food is always good for the soul!

        Good Morning, CptKD, and all.
I was out all last evening, hence my short messages to you on my phone. I hope, CptKD, that you’re getting good rest and you’re able to let Sue pamper you for a bit so you heal….
It’s tough to be feel in ill health and topsy-turvy feeling…. Just know, you’re loved. As you know, we all hold you in our hearts and pray for your continued good health.

        I’ll be ok, Andrea!
Not to worry… I’ll fill you in when I’m a little more rested.
Still feeling groggy from anaesthetic, and starting to hurt as the freezing is wearing out….

It’s a long story, with lots of complications… but I’m gonna fight with all I got, and I will prevail!
Not everyone gets to live to a ripe ol’ age, but I’m not ready to check out just yet!
        Lots of fight left!
And lots to love and live for…

        Now – NO worrying, k!

      • May 20 2011

Okay my dear. When you can please let me know how you’re doing…details please… 🙂

In the meantime you’re in my thoughts & prayers.

CptKD: Just wanted to drop in and add my wishes for a speedy recovery. I even enjoyed all the great tunes while I was here.

I’m so glad we have a jury of 12; plus 5 alternates. Even Miss Casey told Judge Perry she found the jury acceptable–with the ‘objections’ of her defense noted, of course.

Looking forward to seeing you about as we pursue the next phase of justice for baby Caylee.

Hi Cap; I’m just reading to find you had some kind of surgery. I do hope you are mending and finding ways to avoid whatever pain it might have caused. As you know I am a cancer survivor, if that’s what it was. I am a very willing listener and counsel many friends who have been that route. If it’s not that, even better. Whatever you have gone through I’m sure you will share it down the road. Sue is a mighty great caretaker, but I’m thinking she was getting hungry too. lol.

This is a long time coming…it is just around the corner. Now that it is I am realizing the reality of all of it also…the first thing that I am hearing from many high profile attorney’s online is that she WILL take the stand…I cannot even imagine that happening….she will be eaten alive…and it will turn into more of a circus. I am still shaking my head that the defense team will be able to start opening statements with a straight face….it just seems so unreal that ANYBODY would try to explain away what has happened.

      Hi Whistlersmother,
You got that right – it’s been tooooo long coming!
What I am waiting to see and hear, is Ms. Casey Anthony listening to Jeff Ashton or Linda Drane Burdick get up there, in opening, and with the precision of a surgeon, lay down, bit by bit, how this calculating and cold murder of this innocent child, Caylee Marie, took place.

When the details of the crime are exposed in opening statements – when the defendant realizes HOW MUCH the State knows, and how exacting they are in laying out the details of the murder, she will not be able to handle it – she will know it’s all over.

I would like to know how Baez, in one or three minutes of an opening statement, will quash the reality of this murder being committed by anyone but the defendant herself!

It will be interesting which State Attorney does the opening. If emotion is what they want the jury to feel when they hear what happened to Caylee, Jeff Aston will be the best one to deliver the facts and allow the jury to hear Caylee’s voice.

I agree…this is really going to put her in a headspin. I already have my day cleared and snacks chosen for ALL of tuesday. I don’t think I will ever hear a more interesting opening statement than these two….I will be looking to see what comments you make on this momentous day!

This is bar none my favorite rendition of this song! I am not in the mood for dancing yet. This trial will be long and emotions are going to run high. It was difficult trying to watch or listen to jury selection. I don’t think it should have ever been public. The media made it hard to find potential jurors but that’s how it is in Florida and hope they never enact anything like the Sunshine Laws in my state. The hardest part is yet to come because I have read the 20k pages and watched all the video and court proceedings. I know too much! The jurors will only see about half of what the people that have followed diligently has seen.

Yup! This is THE best version of the song! I used to be crazy about Mick and David!

I wonder what will come out that was kept under seal-that which we didn’t get to see.

Andrea, after almost three years, we have a jury. On Tuesday, the defense is going to tell us ……….in three minutes, or was it one minute …….why, Casey did not report Caylee as a missing child. I can’t even imagine what they are going to contrive. I do pray we will finally hear the voice of little Caylee from the State of Florida. Oh, and I do love the song, both versions.

Hey Rob! You have said it all, my friend – you have said it all, and I think that we WILL hear Caylee’s voice, finally. I have a feeling, they will allow the loss of this precious child – the emotion surrounding that loss – to take center stage. Then, I hope, with Caylee as the center of their case, they will layout the case, brick by brick, until the bricks become four walls that close in on Casey Anthony. I would love her to beg for forgiveness. if only she could beg for forgiveness….

Me and my husband were talking about the trial just a a little while ago and I started crying because I feel little Caylee has no voice in that courtroom. I said to my husband “not even her own grandparents will speak for her because they went into cover up mode for their daughter as soon as they smelled death in her car.” The only ones that will be speaking for her will be the prosecuting attorneys and as much as I love and admire them for it, they are strangers to little Caylee.

My first grandchild (a little girl) lives with me and just turned 5 months old the other day. I look at her and the love I feel for her overwhelms me. If my daughter ever did anything to hurt this child I would turn her over to the police so quickly it would make her head spin. I could never forgive such a heinous act. I guess it made me terribly sad to think that people who claimed to love and cherish Caylee abandoned her in more ways than one.

Here is a WFTV Special on Casey Anthony-Jury Selection

    http://www.wftv.com/video/27978351/index.html

Its about 20 minutes long. it compares the photos of Casey when she first came to Pinellas County jail with that of rechecking in at Orange County. She looks rugged. I believe she finally understands that the game is over now.

Sherry! Thank you – this is a wonderful program! I loved the fact that Kathi B. said that the State would use Caylee’s picture, videos, and audio and that their opening would be really “high-tech!”

I think we won’t be disappointed in what the state opens with – they are going to blow us away, I really think they will drop bomb after bomb after bomb – and Casey is going to feel like her case is blown to bits! 🙂

What I expect is that if Casey sees her story isn’t being bought by the jury that she will take the stand. I say, you go, girl! lol

      • May 22 2011

I would pay money to see her take the stand. I think she will. She has held her peace all this time and I think it is busting to come out.

        Bring it

What do you think?
